Trained in debits. Fluent in data.
I studied Accountancy, work in FP&A, and spend my days in Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI and Claude agents. Here I share tips, what I’m working on, and the apps I build.
The ledger taught me why. The code shows me how.
Accountancy gave me the logic behind the numbers. FP&A puts those numbers to work in real decisions.
Excel is still where I think. SQL gets me to the source, Python handles what a spreadsheet shouldn’t, Power BI turns it all into dashboards, and Claude agents take on the repetitive parts so I can spend more time on the analysis.
More about meThe career bridge
Bars not to scale. Neither was the learning curve.
- AccountancyWhy the numbers exist.
- ExcelWhere I think out loud.
- SQLGetting the data myself.
- PythonWhen the file gets too big.
- Power BIDashboards people can read.
- Manual workLess copy-paste every close.
- Claude agentsTaking the repetitive parts.
- FP&A todayAll of it, in one person.

Tips & tricks
All tips- Seven Power Query lessons from five finance problemsJournal uploads, a P&L crosstab and a folder of team workbooks all came down to the same few habits. Here they are, with the case behind each one.
- Turning a wide allocation sheet into a journal uploadShared costs split by percentage have to become one journal line per cost centre. Unpivot does the reshaping, and an account-level reconciliation explains every gap.
- Bringing Windows Office muscle memory to the MacI wanted Alt, H, V, V on my Mac, one key at a time. So I built KeyTips with Claude, and it now covers more than 1,100 sequences.
- Building a journal from sheets that can't be tablesWhen source sheets can't become Excel tables, dynamic named ranges can feed Power Query instead. A debit-only plug then balances the cents without touching credits.

Getting KeyTips ready for release
KeyTips now works in Excel, Word and PowerPoint on my Mac. Next comes the part that turns a working app into one other people can install: Apple’s signing and notarization, then a test on a Mac that has never run it.
