Now: Getting KeyTips ready for release

App · building · 30 Oct 2026

KeyTips

Windows-style Office shortcuts on the Mac. Tap Option, then type a sequence like H, V, V, one key at a time, in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

What it does

KeyTips brings Windows ribbon sequences to Office for Mac. You tap Option, release it, and type the rest. Badges on the ribbon show the next keys.

  • Coverage: more than 1,100 sequences across Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Nested menus: when a menu item opens another list, KeyTips carries on into it.
  • Grids and long lists: use the arrow keys and Return for colours, chart types and function lists.
  • Quick Access Toolbar: tap Option, then press a number for that position.
  • AutoSum: Option-= inserts a SUM in Excel.
  • Your own macros: tap the right Command key and type a sequence you defined.

Status

KeyTips works on my Mac, but there’s no public download yet. It still needs a signed, notarized release. It will require a Mac with Apple silicon. Outlook and OneNote aren’t covered.
